Your privacy is our priority. StackSpy collects absolutely no data.

📌 No Data Collection

StackSpy does NOT collect, store, transmit, or share any user data. All technology detection is performed entirely within your local browser instance. No information ever leaves your device.

🔧 Local Processing Only

Every scan runs locally on your machine. StackSpy makes zero external API calls, uses no third-party services, and transmits no data over the network except loading the extension files themselves from the Chrome Web Store.

🎯 Permissions & Their Limited Use

  • activeTab — Access the current webpage ONLY when you click the extension icon. No background or cross-tab access.
  • scripting — Injects detection script into the page to read framework globals (window.React, window.Vue) and DOM attributes.
  • tabs — Reads current tab URL and title for display in the popup and exported reports.
  • storage — Reserved for future user preferences (theme, default export format). Currently NOT used.
  • <all_urls> — Required to make StackSpy work on ANY website you choose to analyze. The script runs ONLY after your click.

🚫 What We Don't Do

  • No background monitoring or tracking
  • No modification of webpage content
  • No advertising or promotional content
  • No user authentication or accounts
  • No selling or transferring data to third parties
  • No creditworthiness or lending assessments

📁 Export Reports

When you export a report (JSON, Markdown, HTML, or text), the file is saved locally to your device. StackSpy never uploads or transmits these files anywhere.
